The City & County of Honolulu requires all managers (including retail establishments) and bartenders to attend a three-hour training class for serving alcohol. These classes are taught by Liquor Commission personnel. Participants must pass a written exam. Training is regulated by the Liquor Commission; presently the other three counties in Hawaii do not require training, but may have similar programs.
